Hi, I had colon surgery 4 weeks ago. The operation itself was good and the surgeon was pleased with my progress. However I am still getting a lot of tummy pain, which I assumed at first was trapped wind , or gas from the operation. But it is still not going and it wakes me several times a night. I am gradually introducing high fibre food back into my diet, but it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. The surgeon didn't seem concerned. Does anyone else have experience of this?
Four weeks for me also. After being discharged i was in so much pain, i ended up being readmitted for a week. Even morphine was barely helping. I was treated for a possible infection as i had half my colon removed and bowel resected. They said the pain was coming from the new join, which was inflamed. Pain is getting better but most of the day walking around i get really sharp pains no matter what i eat or drink. I was a bit worried it was an infection as i have a wound infection on the outside, but looks like you have the same symptoms so perhaps it's normal healing.
