Hello there, I am on my 8th cycle of Lonsurf with Avastin and the fatigue is really affecting me, does anyone have any experience of improvement with dose reduction or whether the fatigue stabilises with continued use or is it likely to get worse? When I am in the middle of my cycle I just feel like I don’t want to carry on with the treatment because I feel so awful.
Thank you all x
Hi TarkaCad39fb
There was a thread on longsurf . You might like to look at the search function to link in with others using it . As I remember this coming up .
My mum used a different chemo but a dose reduction was great for her and helped her go the distance .
Wishing you well ,

Hello @TarkaCad39fb,
My husband has been on Avastin and Lonsurf for around a year now, at first he found it a breeze compared to his previous treatment regime, the opposite of yourself.
However, he has recently been hit with the dreadful fatigue which has been quite scary, falling asleep in the chair 10 minutes after waking up and having to go back to bed most afternoons. He has just asked for a dose reduction in the Lonsurf, we shall see starting from this week how it goes!
Wishing you all the best
Has the dose reduction helped? I’ve had a small dose reduction this cycle but I’ve barely been able to get up. I’m napping every day and still sleeping well at night but waking up shattered every day. Feels like my monthly cycle is reduced to about 5 good days :-(
I am sorry to read that.
Sounds like the same as.
Unfortunately not, I think the reduction should have been in the Avastin, no treatment last week, kidney function now less than twice as low as it should be and now possibly looking at a blood transfusion as my husband is now very anaemic. I was sure something wasn’t quite right.
Hopefully we will know more tomorrow when he goes to Oncology for an emergency assessment.
I am not sure if this treatment will continue . . . .sadly.
The weight loss has recently also been quite shocking, but not surprising when you can hardly eat anything of late.
All the best to you x
