Hi, I was diagnosed in September with stage 4 colon cancer, 60mm tumour, spread through the lymph system but not yet any other organ. I was and still am, so very healthy, and I had no symptoms.  All my NHS 'poo tests', even the one dated 2024, were negative. Initially they were hoping it was just localised lymph nodes and I was preparing for surgery so it was a huge shock to be told, nope, no surgery just immunotherapy for 2 years to try and prolong life.  I get an infusion every 6 weeks and I just received the first CT scan results after 3 sessions which already shows a positive response, with one lymph node reducing from 1.4cm to 0.4cm.  Don't get me wrong, I am very pleased, as are my husband and all my friends.  But I am also scared, at what point will it stop working and my world crashes again?  Is anyone further down the immunotherapy road?  How are you coping?  Thanks, L x

  • Hi

If you look up  you might find it an encouraging read . It’s been amazing watching her journey .

And Well done you . That’s so encouraging and only normal to get concerned about the future . Hopefully with time it will ease for you . We found with my mum normal life did it’s work and squeezed back in .

    Take care ,

  • Dear Court, Thank you, I read Moi2 and her journey and positivity just shines through.  Her immunotherapy drug works similar to the one I am on, which gives me hope. I think having the infusion every 6 weeks is so helpful, I have a long gap in between to reset and get back to normal life.

And today the sun is out... it really helps to see early spring.  Lx
