Hi this may be TMI but I am looking for advice.
Back ground:
Loop ileostomy 5th December 2025
Rectal CA diagnosis Nov 25 stage 3
Received 2/6 cycles Folfoxiri
Last cycle 09/01
Okay apologies if to much information.
Loop ileostomy functioning post chemo. I get to about day 5 post chemo and I start getting the stomach cramps (I am sure that the filgrastim (7days) is contributing to side effects) I am very strict with my diet and stick to the safe stuff but then I have an over bearing need to move me actually bowels.
This haunts me for days and the pain is really bad. Once I have a wee movement it does settle but I really don't know what to do about it. Of course the chemo will be irritating my tumour making it even harder to 'poo" but it's really getting me down. Especially when I am feeling "ok" post Chemo.
I am seeing my stoma nurse this Tuesday so will pick her brains too. But has anyone experienced something similar. Any hints tips to make things easier.
Thanks so much
Stacey
