Hi, I am new to the group.
I was diagnosed with bowel cancer on 12th December 2024. I had 12 cycles of folfox chemo and surgery in September 25.
I am really struggling with neuropathy in my hands and feet. I am also having flashbacks and vivid dreams which bother me.
I am due back at work on 19th January but am anxious that I wont be able to pick up the pace or that work will expect too much from me. I work from home (as per OH recommendations) due to becoming disabled during 2020/21.
Has anyone else struggled post treatment?
Hello Sandra (Sandra74
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the online Community. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying it will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope seen and answered by other members of the bowel cancer group.
Regarding the neuropathy - I would mention this to your team and see if you can get a referral to the neuropathy service. As for the anxiety about your return to work - why not have a word with our Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week).
I do hope your situation gets better and your return to work goes well.
Best wishes - Brian.
