Hi everyone. I had my operation on 29th December which went well and I was discharged on 31st December. Had problems with pain control initially but nd day got it under control. Keep asking for pain relief even if you think you are being a nuisance. Before discharge ensure you are given instructions on how to inject yourself in your tummy. I was not but GP nurse took me through it and made me do it myself. Also ensure you are given an extra pair of compression socks. I was not and told by GP nurse that hospital should have given me them then told by colorectal nurse to ring ward and ask for my size and get back to them and they would post some to me. Rang ward several times. Picked up then dropped call without answering. Continued to ring but not answered. I would have expected colorectal nurses to do this for me. Am now 6 days post-op and am amazed how quickly I am able to do things, albeit a little slower. Now just the wait to get biopsy results. Told 4-6 weeks. No point in worrying about it as won't change results. Just trying to get by day to day. Thanks for reading this epistle. Hope it helps someone xx
