newly diagnosed and had first immunotherapy session last Friday. Nausea and vomiting despite meds and fluctuate between constipation and incontinence - losing all dignity See no evil On 21 different tablets daily for other ongoing medical issues and finding it difficult to tolerate essential medications. Having endoscopy on Thursday and dreading such an invasive procedure (although I know it won’t be as bad as the colonoscopy!) Generally feeling life is out of control - trying hard to keep positive. Brain feels ‘displaced’ if that makes sense? Haven’t talked to MacMillan nurses - didn’t know where to start!!! Any advice welcome Pray

  • Hi Gadabout72d91e ,

im new here too , just finding lots of advice and very friendly folk ,

,Ive been visited by the big C recently for the third time , you’d think I be used to it , but I’m certainly not ,and can’t offer you any advise ,just wanted to say hello ,your not alone, Sun with face

  • Hi Briars, I could be fascetious and call you greedy, or accuse you of upsetting the national statistics, but I’m not that crass! I guess no experience is ever the same as another, I wish you well with your recent journey and thank you for taking time to welcome me Pray

  • Hi   and a warm welcome to the board from me too. I don’t know a lot - well anything if I’m honest - about immunotherapy and I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling with the side effects. It must be hard to find a balance when you’re swinging from constipation to diarrhoea. Please talk to your team or colorectal support nurse about the issues that you’re having. They quite often start you on the ‘cheapest’ antisickness meds but there are others to try if these aren’t working - I’ve heard that Emend can be very effective.
Please give the support desk a ring and have a chat with them - it’s open every day from 8-8 and the numbers at the bottom of this post.

Hope things settle down a bit for you - it sounds like you have a lot to deal with so please keep posting and we’ll help you where we can

    Take care

    Karen x

  • Thank you for warm welcome, Karen, very much appreciated Thumbsup I’m a bit unsure of the many contact numbers I seem to have for MacMillan - do you know if there is a link between the general support line and the more local team based at my treatment centre? Don’t want to have too many lines of communication open and risk confusion Dizzy face

  • Hi  You could ring the general support desk on the number below and see if they have a contact number for your local hospital? There is also a page on here where you can put your post code in and search for local support although this may be local cancer support groups, exercise classes etc.
