I’m 78, married with a husband who has Multiple Myeloma. I had a shock diagnosis in June after a CT scan followed by a right hemicolectomy on August 1st ( 2025) The tumour has been removed with clear margins and no spread. I have had no follow up appointment with the consultant.
My major problem is constipation. I get the urge to pass stools early in the morning ( anywhere between 3.30 and 5.30am. I have to strain to pass stools but they are quite firm and mostly plentiful. After this I may go after breakfast but then  not again until the following early morning. I just wonder if this is my new normal or whether I should be seeking treatment ?
Hi Gomeragirl2c4d50 ,
i understand it takes about six months for your new normal to be established.  Until then things may be a little more unpredictable. If you are worried you can always contact your team and they can advise you.
best wishes
