Hi everyone! I'm taking capecitabine on its own as an adjuvant. Wondering when others have started to get the expected side effects like sickness and diarrhea.
Hi Vivique0d8169 I’ve attached a link to a previous post which might be helpful? Some people have capecitabine after an iv of oxaliplatin (capox) and the oxaliplatin can cause a lot of the side effects so you will hopefully find the tablets alone quite tolerable?
Thank you I guess everyone has a different experience. I believe that capeticabine is now often prescribed for over 70s on its own as side effects are more manageable.
Im 10 days away from finishing the 8th ( and final) round of CAPOX. My own experience was only side effects from the OX ( neuropathy hands and feet lasting longer each round). I live in Spain, and it’s been very hot this Summer, and I had an hour’s nap every afternoon during the hot weather, but don’t think I had fatigue from the tablets. Diarrhoea and constipation a handful of times… but difficult to tie them to tablets. I’ve been fortunate, and as you’ll gather from reading these posts experiences vary enormously. The good news is that you’re in the hands of experts, ready to remedy any problems you have, sometimes reducing the dose, sometimes suggesting medication… all the best for your journey, and we’re all here to help and support,
Thank you I'm 76 and after the shock of emergency surgery after I unwisely didn't take the tests everyone has been very supportive!
