Im 40 years of age I've been back and forth to my GP with H.pylori treated 3 times. However I kept regurgitating my food each time I ate for a while. I decided to exaggerate my symptoms inorder to have a gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Even after this they kept cancelling my appointments saying I dont fit the criteria.
Eventually I had both done. Including a ct scan for throat, pelvis and abdomen this picked nothing up.
Gastroscopy picked something i had 12 biopsies taken.
It was confirmed I have gastric adenocarcinoma. Next step is a laproscopy on Friday to see if this outside my stomach.
My journey has begun, I hope to find some strength and support. I have been physically active my whole life played rugby I'm fit as a fiddle even now I function 100%.
Hi Cerberus4a95d1 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to you , it sounds like you've had a tough journey to finally get diagnosed.
As you know, the online community is divided into different support groups so I thought I'd suggest that you also join and post in the stomach cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have gastric adenocarcinoma.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and tests to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
