I thought I'd posted a hi ya, but can't see it

I have had an anterior colorectal resection with a temporary stoma. But I have now been advised of "extra mural venous invasion" and the possibility of chemo.

I seem to be unable to sleep and am worried about chemo.

  • Hi  Your first post has dropped onto the next screen as the board is quite busy at the minute. EMVI is often treated with chemo in tablet form but once you know what you’re having then please come back and we can advise you further? Quite often the thought and reputation of chemo is worse than the actual experience so please approach it with an open mind and see how it goes - it’s worth it for the final belt and braces of treatment

    Take care

  • Hi River Pete, As you probably know the waiting is often the hardest part. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer, Stage 3 EMVI +, in May, I am on a TNT approach, having had long course chemo radiotherapy which finished 26 Aug and started, 4 x 3 week cycles of CAPOX, on 22 Sep. Numerous contributors on this forum describe chemotherapy as doable, if that is the route you take, remember that many here have traveled a similar path and are willing to share their experiences. Understanding the journey you’re starting and taking each step at a time makes it a little easier. Best of luck.
