Right hemicolectomy

Hello! My husband had this surgery seven weeks ago. He is almost fully recovered. 

You should ask your team details for your surgery have you met with your surgeon yet? My husband had robotic surgery and was in hospital for just three days but this can vary. He did not have a stoma and we were told that right hand side surgery was less likely to result in a stoma but again this may vary so please ask your team. 

You will be well looked after in hospital in terms of pain and they should get you moving as soon as possible.

 I had a right hemicolectomy last March.  I was diagnosed with stage 3.  I was operated on with keyhole surgery and out of hospital in 5 days no bag.  A year and a half on now and I’m back to normal.

Thank you so much for your cheering me up with this informatio and I am glad that you have fully recovered.I wish that I will do the same.The colonoscopy I did says that I have a polyp of 4 cm.They do not know if it is malign or benign.Tomorrow I will have the surgery.At first glance I will a keyhole surgery as well.

My biggest shock after surgery was that I used to have a sticky out belly button but they had made of of their entry points there and tidied my belly button up on the way out.  Result!
