Hi, I’m new here. I was diagnosed in May 24 after 2 months of rectal bleeding (I thought it was haemorrhoids!). No other symptoms or examination findings but my GP decided to do a FIT test anyway which was sky high so I was referred for an urgent appointment and subsequent colonoscopy revealed a 4cm mass 7cm up in my rectum.
i completed 6 sessions of FOLFIRINOX (some were different combinations due to liver issues). In October 24 I was told the tunour had shrunk to 1cm and no lymph nodes were affected any more.
surgery November 24 - LAR with 0/54 lymph nodes effected. Ileostomy reversed March 25.
First follow up CT was Aug 25, still waiting for results but have received an appointment through for the liver team (sore point - no call from surgeon or CNS’ explaining results or that referral was needed).
Hello Mutleybm
I am Brian, one of the Community Champions here on the online Community. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying your post will be "bumped up" to the top of the group and I hope seen and answered by other members of the Bowel group.
I wish you well with your follow up appointment after your CT Scan.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello there. I am about to start FOLFIRINOX on 1 October and I am terrified. How did you find the treatment? I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer as it has spread to my liver. They cannot operate on my liver as one of the tumors is quite deep and close to arteries so the idea is to shrink it so they can operate. That seems a long time between completing your treatment to getting surgery. Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated. I have had no symptoms and it was only picked up through a FIT test. I have had a CT scan, PET scan and MRI. I had my first oncology appointment week before last. I am having my PICC line fitted 30 September and chemo starts 1 October. Good luck to you for your results.
