I've posted quite abit over the years, usually outlining diagnosis & treatment, but lately I've tended to only discuss the 'other end' of the experience,  what comes after.

I clearly remember the awful feeling of helplessness and uncertainty many of you are now experiencing.   The desire to know what is going to happen to me and what will my life be like after this is finally over.  At the time of diagnosis I couldn't see beyond the very immediate future.  BUT rest assured it does pass and there is a future, no matter how bleak it seems now.

Anyone who has read any of my previous posts will know about my love of Liverpool fc, something I've never mentioned before is my love of music, especially Bruce Springsteen,  who I first saw as a student in 1981.  Fans of the Boss have always asked one question, given his absolute adoration of The Beatles why had he never played Liverpool?  Last week the Boss was in town for 2 shows at my beloved Anfield.   I went to both.

On Saturday it was my son, his g/f and me on the pitch.  During the encores Bruce introduced a local lad who he thought, 'had talent & would go far,' - Paul Mccartney.. Bruce & Paul banging out Beatle's songs at Anfield is an  absolute 'bucket list' topper.  Well on Saturday it happened and I was there, thanks for the skill & dedication of the ColoRectal department at the RLUH

Two 'dreams' in a month, watching Virgil 'lift the Prem,' & seeing Macca & the Boss together; and both at Anfield.  This is a long way to say someone who has 'been there' can tell you there is a bright future waiting for you & jI hope you 'join me 'in the land of hopes & dreams.'

YNWA - come and join us Wirtz
