Someone told me about the findings on helpful recovery from colon cancer .

BBC News - Audio Clip (4 mins)

The irony of the research is that it conflicts with  the practises of chemotherapy. Having a colon resection , shortly after a hip replacement has devastated my exercise needs . The use of the Picc line is largely to blame .I begged for a port at the outset but although a referral was made , no response was ever given.

Losing access to healthy exercise in the pool has been detrimental to mental, physical health as well as  weight gain as a side effect ....the overwhelming fatigue just sealed the deal .....three months chemo as a protection from cancer, creates several tangible barriers to good health Sob

  • Hi  Yes the downside of a pic line is that you can’t get it wet or swing your arms about but I found it a small price to pay for the pain and discomfort that I was getting after the cannula. How about walking? Get wrapped up if it’s a nippy wind and enjoy a bit of nature and flowers?

    Take care

  • Lol, the port is the alternative , I'm sure a cannula is painful .

Walking is a firm of exercise that works for some people , everyone knows what works for their needs .
