Hello there
I am new to the community and have had a right hemi-colectomy in mid April and biopsy results were that it had spread to four out of 17 lymph nodes. There is no direct invasion of blood vessels.
If anyone has views on alternatives to standard treatment, I would be interested to hear from you, whether tried or thinking of trying.
Thank you.
Hi Penelope and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Penelope
Do you mean instead of taking chemo ?
I think there is a lot of information on things that are helpful to assist the body whilst taking chemo . Ways to activate the T cells . Macmillan’s has information on that if you would like me to add it for you .
This is my personal view . My mum battled stage 4 cancer for 15 years on and off . I would do everything possible to ensure you can halt this before it spreads further . Four lymph nodes is a reasonable amount .
I do however think there is a hurdle to get over when considering taking chemo . Almost a wrestle but in my opinion it’s still the best way to try and halt it at this stage .
Dealing with it indefinitely is a lot and overwhelming despite the fact we did make the very best of it . She would have done anything to halt it earlier .
However she was a big believer in keeping all aspects of her body healthy .
I know this process is tough and I am certainly not trying to influence you or lecture you . The helpline is always available if you want to chat it through with someone .
You take special care ,
Court
