Hi,
Anyone had experience with cetuximab and irinotecan? This is my option for treatment every 2 weeks.
Thanks
Hi Gwen14 I was just about to send you a link to a previous post but then realised it was a previous post that you’d done! I’ve no experience personally but if you type Cetuximab in the search box at the top of the screen then it will bring up previous posts with it in?
Just finished cycle 2. Bit more tired this time but all manageable.
Good morning Gwen14,
My husband was on this treatment along with 5FU for 2 years, my husband’s consultant said one of his longest patients on this treatment at full strength.
He found it doable apart from being time consuming and returning to have the pump disconnected from his chest port.
He initially had a lot of problems with mouth ulcers and the skin rash. He mainly had to keep out of the sun and salter water rinses did eventually help with the mouth ulcers. He also lost a lot of hair but not all of it. The rash does get better though as time goes on.
He continued to work throughout, although fortunately he works from home. I think it would be difficult for anyone to continue a manual job under this treatment, but I am sure there might be people who will correct me.
He is now on Longsurf and Avastin.
All the best.
