Hi, new member to this forum.
2 years ago diagnosed with kidney cancer, right kidney removed and it hadn't spread. So just active watching.
I work in a bar and over Christmas and new year put tiredness down to work. Exhausted all the time. Blood tests showed an iron deficient anaemia. Had iron infusion,
Fit test showed blood in stool - reading was >200 ug/g
Colonoscopy has shown a 35mm tumour in the right hepatic flexure.
Have had CT scans of abdomen and chest to see if has spread. and being discussed in MDT tomorrow.
Anyone had similar experiences?
Hi Geordiebeer
My situation is similar but the other way around. I was diagnosed with colorectal in December 24 and they picked up there was also cancer on my kidney. They say they are two separate primaries but obviously my concern is the kidney could be a metastasis. They’ve assured me it isn’t but feels crap to have two cancers at the same time. The plan is watchful waiting for my kidney until I finish colon chemo and then possible surgery.
Annoying that chemo for colon doesn’t work on kidney.
Sorry none of that was much help but please know you’re not alone.
Hope you get the MDT decision soon - waiting is the worst.

Getting call tomorrow off nurse - in mean time had to visit docs - blood in urine
See consultant next Tuesday for plan of action - hoping removal and resection
I'm on my second cancer too. I got a much longer break in between though. It's so unfair that this can happen again.
Good luck! Hopefully they can remove the cancer and you'll be back to normal soon.
I've also had two primaries in quick succession (at the same time ?), though not including the kidneys.
I was diagnosed with bowel cancer after a routine bowel screening test showed positive, successfully treated by surgery last August. But the CT scan preparing for that also showed a thickened uterus which was flagged for later follow up after I recovered from the bowel surgery, and this in turn showed endometrial cancer. I has a hysterectomy at the start of the year and am currently undergoing adjuvant radiotherapy.
I've been told that both are primaries, but could be down to something called Lynch syndrome, which makes both those types of cancer more likely, and am currently undergoing genetic testing for that.
Hopefully it's not Lynch syndrome. That can be very difficult. Good luck!
Initially was worrying about Primary Billiary Cirrohsis and autoimune hepatitis as thats what dad had and turned into liver cancer
Susan13 Difficult in what way exactly ? In my case, I have no children that I could have passed the syndrome onto, and as I appear to have already had and been treated for the main cancers it's more likely to cause, I'm not sure that a diagnosis in my situation would make much difference ? As far as I can tell at the moment there are no other relatives close enough to need to be approached for testing if I'm found to be positive.
By difficult i meant that I think it would make you more susceptible to additional cancers. My friend with Lynch syndrome has had multiple occurrences. But she also has significant family history. So maybe there's more at play in her case.
