My wife's fit test has come back.positive. she has been referred and has a telephone consultation on Friday. I know that the test result may be due to other things rather than cancer. My question is should she be offered a colonscopy procedure as standard?
That’s wonderful news, and so quick. It’s good that you didn’t have too long. May I ask in which area you live?
Hi Jen. We live in Sunderland (Northeast of England.
So do I! What a coincidence! I go to the hospital tomorrow afternoon to see a specialist nurse and hope to get a date for the colonoscopy then. How was it for her? I’m very anxious and fearing the worst.
Lorraine spoke to consultant on Friday morning and on Friday afternoon someone rang to say that we needed to pick up bowel clearance medicine on Saturday. Be close to a toilet when you take the medication and be prepared to spend at least four/five hours backwards and forwards to the toilet. You will be sedated for the procedure. How long have you waited for your referral?
I just got the letter from the screening programme a week ago today. I have to go to the Chester Road outpatients tomorrow afternoon. I was expecting to wait a couple of weeks for the colonoscopy.
I know. My husband will drop me off and pick me up.
Good luck for tomorrow and let us know how things progress.
