Carer to husband who was diagnosed with bowel cancer in March this year and had emergency surgery within 12 hours of being diagnosed. He is now on tablet form chemo. Two weeks in and side effects are appearing.
Hi Juepops and a warm welcome to the board. Gosh that must have been a shock but hopefully your hubby has recovered well from the surgery? Is he on capecitabine? That’s usually fairly well tolerated but all chemo has some form of side effects unfortunately. It’s important to keep his hands and feet well moisturised as capecitabine can make them quite sore and tingly. I’ve attached a link to capecitabine but if the side effects get too bad then please contact his team as a dosage reduction may make a big difference
