My husband has rectal cancer. Metastatic carcinoma of the anorectal junction 8 liver metastases involving all segments.
His treatment is symptom control as the cancer is inoperable. Following 25 gy in 5 fractions in a week he is now suffering from the side effects of the treatment. One of the symptoms not mentioned in the long list of possible side effects is not always being able to pee. The only way he can pee is after a bath. Has anyone else suffered this? We plod on but any suggestions gratefully received.
Hi Asz
Welcome to the forum.
Sounds entirely impractical to have a bath every time he needs to go . Have you seen the sitz baths ? Just fit over the toilet . I am waiting on one for mum but may provide a different avenue to consider . Not saying it will work but some find it beneficial for other reasons .
Take care ,
