In mid-summer I was diagnosed with bowel cancer; glamorously described as 'anorectal' because of its indecisive positioning on the 'rectal verge'. Oh, and secondaries in the lymph nodes in my groin....and they picked up severe mitral regurgitation in my heart. Chemo starts next week. The prognosis is challenging.  They tell me I am young and very fit, so the kitchen sink is about to be thrown at me.

  • Welcome to a very positive group. I am new myself as was diagnosed with cancer in my sigmoid colon on the 5 of July this year. Currently recovering after robotic assisted surgery , nearly 3 weeks passed after my surgery, and I am doing ok even I got infection in my wound which healed nicely now

All the best with your treatment

  • Thank you. Robotic surgery sounds amazing! I am glad  to hear you are doing so well. Surgery is a challenge for me as both the primary and secondaries will be difficult to remove; however, it is being considered. Chemo first and if that goes well, then possibly radiotherapy and then surgery.
