Hi Mags56 I’m sorry you find yourself joining this group. Being diagnosed with cancer is a really difficult thing. It sounds like you have the basics of a treatment plan. I don’t think there’s anything you need to do to prepare for your CT scan, but you should’ve been assigned a specialist nurse. If that’s the case then give them a call. Talk over your questions or concerns, that’s pretty much what they’re there for at this stage. I know it’s easy for me to say try not to worry, or jump ahead in your mind, because I’ve been there and am still here. I hope you have some support from family or friends, but come on here anytime. Ask whatever questions pop up in your mind, nothing is too personal or silly! Wishing you lots of luck.

Hi Mags56 and a warm welcome to the board from me too. Chemoradiotherapy is often used to shrink a rectal tumour before surgery and can be very effective. The chemo is in tablet form and a low dosage that enhances the effect of the radiotherapy. I don’t remember having to do any prep before hand as everything was done on the day.
