I'm new here. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021. Had 5 radiotherapy sessions then 4 cycles of chemotherapy then surgery back in June 2022. Now this coming Tuesday 27th June 2023 my stoma reverse surgery arranged.
Been there all stages but glad looks like it's over and never wants it back but this fear still won't let me sleep.
Hi Qais and welcome to the board. Sounds like you’re approaching the final hurdle but sometimes the ‘after’ bit can be just as hard. There’s a brilliant board on here about reversals - the initial few weeks can be tricky but please be patient and bear with it.
Living well with a stoma reversal or LARS
Im also going to add a link to a brilliant paper about moving on after cancer - you might not feel quite ready for that yet but you can dip in and out if it when you feel ready?
Hope the reversal goes well - please keep us posted
Take care
