Hello am just finding out i have thickening of colon wall , couple of lump under armpit same side.
Had Rheumatoid arthritis for 38 years, drugs galore!!
Colonscopy with biopsies thursday after ct scan showed the problem
Scared and needing advice ....anything, and my heartfelt wishes for recovery to you all.
Welcome to the forum Whymee .
Most people report this part to be frightening when they are gathering in the information and get a treatment plan . However the plan gives some structure to go forward with and this seems to help considerably.
It’s important to remember bowel cancer caught early has many treatment options . My mum has a late stage diagnosis and she is still here 14 years later . So much progress has occurred in the last ten years .
When is your next appointment?
Ask anything you like . Everyone understands here how stressful the unknown is .

Thanks
Best of luck to your mum
You are most welcome .
They will take good care of you tomorrow . If it happens to be bowel cancer we will get you some information for you to read and we will also be here to support you till this is safely in your rear view mirror .
You will have some prepping to do for the colonoscopy?
I will link in Kareno62 as I think she might have said to add a little diluting juice . She will sort me out if it’s wrong advice .

Hi Whymee and a warm welcome from me too. Yes it’s very stressful but the colonoscopy will give you a good idea as to what’s going on.
Have you been given moviprep for the preparation? It’s not very nice and the nurses do say that you can add cordial to make it more palatable (but not blackcurrant) but if you do decide to do that then try it in a small amount first in case it makes it worse? It helps to drink it chilled so prepare it in advice and pop it in the fridge. I worked out roughly how much I needed to drink every 15/20 minutes then took 3/4 slurps through a straw then a swig of tonic water with lemon to take the taste away. It’s yucky stuff but persevere as they’ll check that you’ve finished the full prep and you don’t want to have to do it again if they can’t get a clear view of things.
I usually check in on the board several times a day so please post if you’re struggling or have any questions?
Take care

ps I was diagnosed in 2016 and I’m still ‘no evidence of disease’
Welcome to the forum Whymee.
I think almost everyone will agree this is the worse part, once you know what's going on, either way, things will feel better - honestly. We've all been there.
Court and Kareno62 are only 2 of the fantastic mainstays of this forum and I see they've given you some good advice.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Best wishes,
