Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join, I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with bowel cancer, had my CT Scan but still waiting on results, hoping it hasn;t gone anywhere else and is only in my bowel, if this is the case I will have surgery within next four weeks................................

  • Hi BowelBabe2 and a warm welcome to the board. Yes the first few weeks waiting for results is very stressful but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better.
Bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing but very treatable. Stay away from google - you can ask anything you like on here, read previous posts and, if you click on peoples names, then their profile page may show their journey to date

Please keep us posted and we’ll be here to help and support you through this

  • thank you so much Karen, i'm hoping to have a call from surgeon or nurse on Friday to say the CT results are ok and then they will get me in for pre op then surgery, taking away 25cm of bowel and all the lymph nodes around and then reconnecting, i'm terrified as I have never had an operation in my 54 years lol xx

  • Hi BowelBabe2 and welcome to this fantastic group of people.

If you do get the op I had this operation 10 years ago at age 57 right hemi colectomy had part of the large and small bowel remove and joined. Then I had adjuvant chemo as a belts a braces.

It didn’t take me long to recover after the op was on Tramadol for a few weeks then whizzing around in my car lol.

Will keep my fingers crossed you get your op within weeks.
