Just been diagnosed and don’t know how to feel told my daughters but don’t want sympathy as I want to be positive and get on with it but fear the worst

  • Hi Sagaloo

You're in the right for positive support I didn’t join until after my op then realised that I’d missed out on the early stage of it all.

My head was all over the place

You can say whatever you want here and ask any questions that pop into your head

Did you get your diagnosis after a colonoscopy or at a consultation?

    Sending you a hug.
Others will be along with lots of info

    Take care

  • Hi Sagaloo and welcome to the board. Bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing and also very treatable. Do you have a treatment plan in place or are you still waiting for scans etc? Being positive is good - there will be a tough few months ahead but try to take it one stage at a time and stay in the present - thoughts are not facts.

Stay away from google - you can ask anything you like on here and if you click on peoples names then their profile page may show their treatment to date. I’ve attached a link to a booklet that I was given when starting treatment but feel free to ignore if you prefer information on a need to know basis

We’re all at different stages of treatment or recovery and happy to help and support you through this

    Take care
