Firstly, congrats on your op.

Settling of bowel for some is very quick, for others it can take some months. I'm about 6 months post op and i'm still learning what diet my reformed bowel can handle but have come on leaps and bounds in the last month.

Were you given any specific diet or exercise to help post op recovery?

If you're happy to share what type of surgery you had (either here in post or often easier to do against user profile), then people with similar scenarios can share their experiences with you.

Thank you. I'm on a low residue diet, slowly introducing high fibre but not for a few weeks yet. 

No exercise plan.

Hi, I’m 7 weeks post LAR. I also had a rejoin, no stoma and no further treatment. I have good days and bad with my new bowel arrangement. I panic if I don’t go 3 or 4 times a days then worry if I do. I could do without the bloating and wind but I keep reminding myself how lucky I’ve been.

Be kind to yourself and patient with your body and mind. Although personally I’m still working on both of these. 

Hi CEW - Have you tried mint tea? I find it really helps with some of the bloating

Yes mint tea is a big help, I was thinking of trying peppermint oil to add the cold water.
