Hi hubby just got diagnosed with advanced T4 bowel cancer. He had 2 admissions to hospital with perforated bowel & was told diverticulitis. He had 6 & 1/2 hrs of surgery & a stoma. Shock horror when we attended what we thought was a routine appointment to be told the terrible news. He’s just had his 3rd CT scan now waiting for oncology. He worries about every ache or pain & i am hiding my feelings but inside im crumbling my

You have both had a lot to process, from diverticulitis to cancer must be overwhelming but there’s many members here for you both
The aches and pains that he feels are normal for anyone given cancer news. I wasn’t at your hubbys stage but I still had pain everywhere honestly nights were the worst. I’m sure most that have the word Cancer thrown at them especially thinking it was diverticulitis would feel the same.
Also he’s had a stoma so there’s been a lot of pulling around and soreness caused. I took a long time to fully recover. I had a LAR with ileostomy keyhole and open. He will need power naps and try to eat as well as he can. I grazed
There’s a Stoma group which really helped me, I gained confidence and managed well. They’re a great bunch and can advice you on his diet if you would like help
