Hi everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer after a colonoscopy and CT scan. Naturally this was quite a shock as I’m sure it is for most. I am currently in work and have spoken to the company, I am quite worried about how it’s going to effect my family’s finances.

I have had a meeting with the colorectal team including a specialist nurse and surgeon. I am due to speak to the oncologist tomorrow over the phone.

They have recommended I undergo FOxTROT3 trial treatment which includes chemo borne before and after surgery. They will use an additional drug on top of the “standard” 2 used to treat this kind of cancer.

Obviosuly I will find out more from the Oncologist but I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with FOxTROT3 treatment.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum . I am so sorry to read about your diagnosis and don’t have much information on the trial . I will have a look at it though .

However please contact Macmillan’s helpline on 0808 808 0000 . They have all the information on the financial assistance that might be available.

They would be happy to chat to you about it .

  • Hi

I had a look at the trail you mentioned . I have noticed over the last few months more and more people using chemotherapy prior to surgery. It’s good that this trial is based on previous trial evidence foxtrot 1 and 2 . You must be young and fit to get onto Foxtrot3 . But the trial findings for foxtrot 1 seem to be the same demographic as you and encouraging .

Here’s to significant shrinkage for you and very successful surgery .

Just in case you have not found the background research to the trial you are on . Foxtrot1 seems to have good trial results .
