Hi everyone one starting on 5fu once aweek for 30 weeks, anybody done this? Can't believe it's so long wasn't expecting that long.
Hi Arora I am on weekly 5fu currently. I’m 3/4 of the way through my planned treatment. It’s intense in that you have to go to hospital every week (plus have blood tests) but it’s gentler than other types of chemo in terms of side effects. I find I’m tired and nauseous with diarrhoea for the first few days, then I’m about normal again by the end of the week. I’m about to re-start work part time. The hardest part for me has been the mental side of things - it’s a long term treatment and can feel like a big hill to climb. But it’s doable. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask x
Hi thank you for replying, I've got to go back to work in a month full-time. Don't know how I will feel. Did you loose any hair? I'm so worried about that, I have very long hair and I'm scared it will drop out, sounds vain but it's a confidence thing. Suffering bad with my nerves at mo with worry xxx
