Hi I'm new here well not exactly as I am an old member.I have had kidney cancer, bladder cancer and skin cancer.I was diagnosed with colon cancer in April and had a right hemicolonecyomy in May.All 15 lymph nodes clear so no chemo and a stoma wasn't needed.Im recovering fairly well but have a few other health issues but I'm ok.Well as OK as you can be my bowel makes such noises as to make me think an alien will explode out of it and it varies from constipation to a bit loose.I also have IBS which doesn't help things.

  • Hi Cruton

Boy you have had a lot of Cancer to deal with.

My husband has IBS I have an ileostomy both requiring thought when eating. So it may be a good idea to start a food diary.
I didn’t touch white bread for most of my life. I know live on it. I am not suggesting that for you  it’s what suits my system

So it may be a thought to start with foods that you know are okay and stay with that until you feel it’s settling. Introduce and see how you go.
My husband at his worst stage had live yogurt every morning and very strict diet that worked for him. It did settle however both of us have to be mindful

    Hope things improve soon

  • I'm sorry you have been so much, but you did make me laugh about the stomach notices,, I had the same last surgery done 3 months ago ( did have lymph nodes involved so on chemi,)

And I thought it was just me that had to turn the TV up to hear over my belly noises!

Artsy Ann came up with a great idea that I'm definitely going to give a try.

I'm glad it's OK here not always having to be 100% serious all the time  and still get great advice and support
