Polyp removal

Hello

After visiting my GP for noticing mucas, a change in bowel habits and then a small amount of blood I was referred to Gastro. Little did I know I was fast tracked to bowel screening. My doctor had previously suggested I may have UC but as I take Azathioprine he thought it could be accidentally treating it. Anyway I had my colonoscopy on Friday. Although all looked good and no inflammation the consultant did remove a 6mm sessile polyp and took a further 6 biopsies. I am now playing the dreading waiting game for the results. Has anyone had something similar who wouldn't mind sharing there story. I wasn't too concerned but as the days pass I feel I'm getting more worried. I'm only 1 week into the wait.

Thank you

  • Hi LauraBP

My story is slightly different as I saw my polyp and it was huge. The room fell silent and I had my own named nurse then they called my husband in

So I’m hoping that this will reassure you that you’ll have a positive outcome. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I would be anxious too I think we all would be

Have a good weekend and treat yourself.
    Keep us updated

    Good luck

  • Sorry to hear that. I saw mine and said what's that little fella. Luckily it's small but I guess you never know until results are back. Just hope it's sooner rather than later. Hope you are coping well xx

  • No I’m fine honestly. I only told you to hopefully reassure you. My cancers in the bin and I feel so relieved that our NHS had me on a treatment plan and quickly.
So even if they want to investigate further try to stay positive as the bowel cancer treatment is amazing.

    Hope you here soon
