Going for the results of my MRI scan today which concentrated on my bowel cancer to give us more information on size, spread etc
I know it’s there just hope it’s only in my colon and not spread outside. It was 18cm in and 3cm long ? Doesn’t mean a lot to me that.
Hi Chrisda2 and a warm welcome to the board. I’ve attached a link to a booklet that I was given at my first meeting which may help with some of the jargon and treatment. My tumour was 9cm in so classed as rectal but it sounds like yours is higher up in the colon. Mine was 4cm but rectal cancer is often treated with radiotherapy before surgery which shrank it to 1cm - size is not an indicator of ‘seriousness’ and your treatment will depend on whether there’s any spread outside of the bowel.
Hope the meeting goes well - please keep us posted?
Take care
