Do you know what stage your cancer is at or if it’s in the colon or rectum?
We will definitely be able to get you more information.
In terms of support we have a variety to offer . The forum here is great at day to day support . Macmillan also has a telephone helpline 0808 808 0000 , email support or telephone buddy systems . Our helpline staff can assist to find what best suits you .
Macmillan has also teamed up with Bupa to offer six counselling sessions if you fe we l that would be appropriate.
We have on the forum threads that cover preparing for radiotherapy / chemotherapy . And our group will readily answer and questions as you face each stage .
We also have “ask an expert “ section on things like finances , nurse questions etc .
Please feel free to ask anything you like .

Hi Mark2. The helpline number that Court gave you is available to both you and your family. They can help with all sorts of support both emotional, practical and financial? They’re available 7 days a week from 8-8 on 0808 808 00 00.
Glad you hear that you’re over the op and hopefully starting to recover. Bowel cancer is very treatable and there is lots of support on here. Please keep posting and let us know how you’re doing? There is also a Friends and Family Board if your wife would like to look/post there?

Welcome to the board from me too, but so sorry you find yourself here.
You’ve had a tremendous shock and will take a while for it to sink in. It’s good you’re through the operation and I hope you can find the support you need on here. Ask anything you want, there’s always someone around to answer or point you in the right direction.
