Hi... New to all this so apologies... Hubby just been pre diagnosed with bowel cancer... Aged 51...wow the waiting for the official diagnosis is painful... Hard to stop your mind going to the dark places x
Welcome @Skittles. Very sorry to hear about your husband . Has he just had a colonoscopy?
I think it’s really important to know that bowel cancer treated early is very treatable . Going to link in Kareno62 as she has a good link which others are finding helpful .
We also have a helpline 0808 808 0000. They would be happy to chat through any aspect !
This is the worst part for anxiety . Getting a proper diagnosis with a good treatment plan starts to give it some solutions and a structure to go forward with .
Take care ,

Hi and a warm welcome to the board from me too. The first couple of weeks waiting for scan results, tests, meetings etc. is very stressful but once you have a plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better.
Bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing but very treatable especially if caught early. Please stay away from google! It is out of date, misleading and downright scary in places - you can ask anything you want on here and if you click on people’s names then their profile page may show their journey so far.
Ive attached a link below to the booklet that I was given at my first meeting which will give you an idea of some of the treatments

In the meantime all you can do is try and distract yourself and keep busy. It’s hard not to worry but it won’t change anything and you will need to be a strong team together to get through the next few months. The treatment can be tough but it’s doable.
I became good friends with 2 ladies who were diagnosed at the same time as me and we’ve all just celebrated 5 years of being cancer free
Take care
