Hi! This is my 3rd bout of cancer, since 2011 I have had surgery radiotherapy and chemotherapy for Vaginal cancer in 2011 which came back in2016 then my bowel decided to go to the party last year. Well I am a party-pooper! So my lovely surgeon got the tumour out and installed my stoma, fondly known as Bilbo - who was a very helpful Hobbit, so I guessed was a positive name for him! I am now on capaceptabine I think its called, six cycles. A bit of a challenge but I am determined to get through the treatment - too much I want to do not to! My life is good, and I delight in my grandson who is 2, and am so blessed with my family and friends.
I know what it is like to have a rough day though, and overactive mind, if anyway I can support as well as get support that will be good - always good to know people are there sharing something of our experience!
Well done you - you've been through a lot already. I was due six cycles (months) of Capecitabine also...back in April '20 I found it very doable, with no side effects - until the last month - when I was taken off it - due to bad Palmar Plantar in my hands, & slightly in my feet. The effects build up, & are accumulative - the longer you are on it.
Make sure that you continually moisturise your hands & feet with Aveno or Udderly Moisturisers daily.
Best wishes
Marianne

Hi LizzieJo. Gosh you've been through the mill these last few years! Well done you having such a positive attitude I'm sure it helps.
I had a different chemo FOLFOX and it was a challenge at times but I wanted to give myself the best possible chance so took everything offered. As you say - too much I want to do!
This is a great group and always someone around to give advice or chat to.
Take Care,
