I was diagnosed with Bowel cancer on August last year aged 51....was such a complete shock to me but 18 weeks post op I am just delighted to still be here !
I had an Ileostomy and have a temporary stoma....for how long I don't know with covid delays but I just keep telling myself it could have been so much worse and I am one of the lucky ones.
I have good and bad days with 'Prada' as I call my stoma.....the stoma nurse was great but I find it is very much trial and error yourself to get what works for you...and the contact soon tails off once you are a few weeks down the road!
I find the skin around my stoma gets extremely sore (always has done) unless I apply Duoderm strips around it before putting bag on....I use the talc occasionally too which helps bit tiny amounts.
After trying may stoma bags I have landed with the convex Hollister bag which I find is much better and less irritating on my skin as many of the others.
It has all been a life changing journey !

There’s a stoma support group here so definitely check that out I’ve had so many tips and tricks to making my life easier with Whoopi.
I also had terrible sore skin. Eakin slims fixed it. I have to make sure they’re really pushed tight around the stoma before fixing the convex bags. Bingo it works for me
l like the name Prada very designer. She will definitely desire designer pouches.

Thanks for sharing.....I had my enema on 17th Jan to check but have had no results as yet on whether everything worked ok....the wait goes on and just hoping all is ok for the reversal !

I had mine December got results January 5th. I’ve got months of waiting though so I’m planning some holidays. I need to have some fun. Covid and Cancers not going to stop me.
