Hi All,
I was diagnosed with Colon cancer in December 2020 and had the operation in February this year.
The operation went well and I recovered from it fairly quickly. I am now on 4 sessions of Chemotherapy which end this month. Hurrah! My question is; how do I cope with the awful tiredness? Also I have lost a lot of weight, from 77kg last year when I did 5 and 10k runs to 70.8kg this week. I feel that my lack of interest in food has contributed to my weight loss.
Do you have any suggestions about the tiredness and also about my weight loss?
Mulligatawny soup used to work for me, and watermelon
Hi Louis5656
I like your self was diagnosed with colon cancer back in December. I am having 12 rounds of chemo done presently. I was 55kgs to start with and have went to low of 52kg. Now 54.5 I got some Cal shakes from dietician and they Def help. Also try to eat food high in calories like cheese.
I was of the chemo for a month after the sixth one as I had to wait for scan to be taken. I found in that month I had put on 3kgs so the chemo Def makes you lose weight.
I also suffer from tiredness as I do not sleep well at night. Think the worrying plays a part in this.
4 more chemo to go and then another scan.
Hope this helps on your journey.
