Hi
After many ,many trips to the drs I was finally sent for a colonoscopy on 10 Nov 2020 where Cecil the sessile polyp was discovered and resected . My follow up letter was super reassuring stating thaCecil seemed to be a polyp and that as standard practice would be sent for histology. It also sails they had discovered microscopic colitis and this was likely the cause of my issues
So I continued my life working in between rushing to my office (toilet)
Then in Dec I got a phone call to see the consultant at 6pm This does not seem normal I thought
Well ,my lovely consultant came straight down to it " I'm sorry you have Cancer its aggressive high grade ,you will need an operation after scans and will need Chemo double shocker !
Because of covid I had to wait until 04 march for my op , I awoke to find my two colostomy dots had not been used .Result
Two weeks later I awoke in a sea of goo .oops
Back to a different hospital via ambulance ,exciting ,I've never been in one before
Staples out and wound opened out and cleaned with a giant cotton bud ( OMG that hurt )
Wound is nearly there with some granulation and I have my post op appointment tomorrow where I will hopefully get my stage and plan ?
Last week when I called my results weren't back ,but they took over seven weeks the first time.
Anyway thats my story so far.
Sorry for the long post ,my family say I talk too much
Blimey oh Riley that’s some journey I had my op on the 12th March . My post op appointment isn’t until the 20th May , but I was given the histology results on the phone by the nurse 2 weeks after my op . I met my oncologist last week to discuss chemo though as I had 1 lymph node positive . I hope you get some answers tomorrow and a plan
Hi
I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and you get a chance to find out more details about your treatment plan .
You sound as though your sense of humour is still in tact .
You have had a few bumps along the way so hoping this next part goes without further delay for you .
Take care ,
Court
