Hi, Just to say hello, my husband has been diagnosed with bowel cancer, he has had an op to removed the growths, and confirmed cancer, but also told it has spread to his Lymph Nodes, so now has to have 6 months of Chemo. Bit of a shock as told before op that cancer had not spread to other organs and that no chemo was needed. Op total success though and no bag needed, so we are very grateful to the surgeon and team. But have no idea what will be instore next really, or how bad or effective chemo is.
Hi
Just want to welcome you to the forum . I am sorry to hear about your husband . Chemo can be very effective and they really do take very good care of them . Everyone is very individual when it comes to side effects and my mum had a few ! But the team had a consultation with her to check her bloods before each cycle . They would make any adjustments to her dose or add in anything to help counteract the side effects .
You do get into a routine making meals round the chemo etc .
It’s great news he has no spread but still embracing any treatment is tough and I hope we can support you both as you work through it .
There is plenty of people currently in treatment to connect with and you can ask any questions or join in any thread . Someone is always around to answer,
Take care ,
