Hi All! I've just been diagnosed with colon cancer. My question to you is how are you sitting down? My tail bone and bum is killing me. I have used ice, heat, topical ointment, pain medication and sitting in the tub. What am I missing?
Hi BobbieV. I know people who have had an APR operation (where your anus is sewed up) have recommended a Valley cushion as it takes the weight off that area? I’ve just had a look at them on amazon and nearly choked on my tea! There are coccyx cushions on Argos which are a lot cheaper. You could also have word with your Colorectal Support nurse and see if she has any suggestions? Also your local disability centre may hire the valley cushions out?
Just a few ideas - it’s a case of finding something that supports you sitting down but reduces the pressure on the sore spots isn’t it?
Hope you manage to get sorted
Take care
