Hi All

My name is Ron or Fox4 I have had 3 bouts of Cancer started with Prostrate back in 2015 whilst sorting this they also found Cancer on my Kidney so they removed it. Can I say the Kidney one hurt then last year 2020 found Bowel/Colon Cancer that Op went brilliantly in on the 15th October home by the 22nd no real problems just wondering how long before my Bowel are back to normal and solid any help will do ? Thank you

  • , good your op went well. Your bowel has been assaulted so it takes a while. My rectal op settled over a few months, but got totally reset when I had the first year colonoscopy check!! Not sure why, but it has been much better after that. Try asking your CNS if they have any suggestions, as it might depend which bit of bowel was removed.

Hi Fox4, 46 year old mum of 2 here. I had anterior resection to remove a tumour on the 11th Jan. Back home and walking around, cooking and doing light chores. Am not experiencing too much pain, but still feeling slightly sore in tummy area and using pain medication in moderation. I am being really careful with food size portions and all the food I actually eat. Bowel movements were erratic for the first week with severe and  painful constipation but I feel I am almost back to normal now and going most days. The first week back home was awful as I felt the need to go, and nothing happened, just lots of pain. Thankfully, it is not as painful now but things do 'feel' different following the procedure.

Take care and all the best.
