Hello I have recently had a colonoscopy which resulted in a tumour being found in my rectum so my ct and mri is this week. As devastating as this is to me and my family I am positive I’m going to get through this but I would like to no what to expect in the next few months.
thank you
Hi Chris,
You'll have a set of scans, maybe a PET CT on top of the other two.
The medical team will devise a plan of treatment for you. I was advised this and I cannot reiterate enough but the WORST part of all of this is the waiting so distract, distract, distract and don't look at Google. There's so much good advice on here and the people are great.
My story is on the Macmillian Facebook and Instagram if you're interested.
Ellen.
Just popped over and read your story on Instagram. How fantastic. I can only encourage others to have a read .
All the best with your next step in your treatment .

Hi Elley
thank you. I have been learning that distraction is a way to cope with all of it.
I have just been diagnosed with low rectal cancer so now my consultation will plan what is next but it is looking like radiotherapy and chemotherapy then surgery.
I am just going to read your story now
thanks again.
Hi Once you have a treatment plan and you know what's happening you will have a clearer idea of the way forward. Take a look at my profile to read my story and do message me with any questions, no matter how silly they seem to you. Wishing you luck and strength.x
