Startting my 3rd week of chemporadiotherapy for rectal cancer tomorrow so starting to get some diarrhoea and discomfort but the worst thing is almost daily migraine episodes. I am 77 and started getting migraines in my teens, they lasted for 2 or 3 days at least and followed a pattern, tingling down one side, tongue feeling huge, kaleidascopic lights flashing in my vision, partial loss of vision, severe pain, vomitting, diarrhoea sensitivty to light and sound. So these are the sypmtoms I did have then over years and some daily meds they became less and less.
Since started chemoradiotherapy i had multiple migraine episodes but they are reduced and mainly consist of loss of vision, flashing lights and very achey back of head round to left eye. One episode of severe migrain type pain that woke me up but no lights or loss of vision.. Having a migraine is a very rare occerenece for me, at least it was until I started treatment.
My lovely team are aware and looking at what can be done.
I read something on this site about migraine and chemoradiotherapy which helped me to know others had experienced this. Would really like to know if anyone else has experienced thi and how you coped.
