Rectal Cancer

I started chemoradiotherapy for rectal cancer stage 3 a week ago, fine so far but know it will not last. When my oncology Doctor went through everything with me, 5 weeks of chemoradiotherapy a break and then 18 weeks of chemo it was a lot to take in especially the side effects. I do realise that I will not get all of the side effects and everyone is different but having always had a sensitive tummy I knew diarrhoea would start pretty quickly and it did. Radiotherapy team are aware and I have a telephone review meeting on Monday.

My question is not medical but practical, can anyone sugest pads that are good for fecal matter, everything in the supermarket seems to relate to bladder incontinence and not poo. I dont want to wait until I need them but be ready just in case.

Also has anyone experienced back/neck pain from radiotherapy? I have chronic lower back pain all the time but now have pain higher up my back and the nape of my neck. I have put it down to the fact that the treatment slab is very hard as is the head/neck support, I find lying totally flat painful but small price to pay for the treatment.

Thanks Tatty
