Hi Rosie,
I'm assuming Simon is not on chemo - chemo makes me very fatigued. I've had a number of bowel cancer surgeries. For me, the 'surgery fatigue' was gone after about roughly 3 months, except my last surgery. I was very fatigued (and not on chemo) after 6 months. I went and told the GP I think I am 'abnormally fatigued' and they please need to do something about it - they ran a lot of blood tests (thryoid, blood glucose, hormones, etc etc). They discovered some issues on my blood results (low level anemia etc), and are addressing those. ie there are a lot of other things that can cause fatigue, might be worth investigating.
Hi Rosie13 It may be worth him visiting his GP to get his bloods checked and also to have a chat - do you think he could maybe be a bit depressed? You could also maybe invite him to go out for a couple of walks with you?
He’s been through a lot post treatment and it maybe that he’s just got into a less physical way of life which he needs to break out of? Hopefully the 9 months clear will encourage him to move forward with things?
Take care
Karen x
