Hi all,
First time posting, hoping for some experience and advice as my GPs seem completely out of their depth. I am struggling to find a laxative that doesn't make things worse - im on oramorph morphine although have recently been prescribed MST which is the slow release form - much better but bith constipate.
Tried macrogol (laxido / cosmocol) and I ended up with painful spasms and couldn't cope. Then tried lactulose which bloated me and was so bad with pain.
Now on Docusate sodium stool softener which is better but not pushing it through enough and so im in agony from the build up. Im going alittle each day but its not enough. I have resorted this morning to taking a macrogol just to shift it because I cant cope with it any longer.
Anyone have similar experiences that might help discussions with GP about what to try?
I have a stent in my colon to hold my bowel open where the tumour is so anything bulk forming sounds terrifyingly wrong!!
Hi NorfolkJc84ca4 and a warm welcome to the board. I have no experience of laxatives as I have the opposite problem! but my friend swears by warm prune juice first thing in a morning to clear things out?
Hopefully some of the others will have some top tips for you too
Take care
