Hi all ,
I’ve got my surgery tomorrow morning and not been put to sleep for over 40 years. The surgeon made me more anxious by saying that because my bmi was high the chance of a lot more complications was greatly increased which I understood but he made such a big thing of it
I’ve lost weight and got my bmi down to 36 and because of the fitness test results I had to do he has said he will try robotic surgery as I’m fitter than I look
I’m just really struggling as one minute I’m feeling positive and that in 24 hours it will be over but panicking because it’s so near
ive just no idea of what happens on surgery day as I’ve had so many people telling me different things and getting really nervous and paranoid
Hi Lee,
I had a higher bmi than that and was physically fit. I was fine. I am trying to lose weight in case I need more surgery but it’s tricky as my body isn’t keen to let go! I concentrate on being physically fit and strong.
an operation is always scary but you are in great hands.
Good luck today!
