Hi everyone,

It will be 3 years this August where my Mam who is 83 had surgery on a bowel tumour removal. Since the operation she has been well however has severe bouts of diahorreah still after eating at times just normal everyday foods.  There does not seem to be a pattern to what she eats to experience the aftermath!

The diahorreah can subside for a couple of days but then comes back with a vengence, the latest episode was during last night where she was up and down and I thought I would reach out to you to see if you have any advice.

Since her operation she has been on Loperamide which she takes maybe one to 2 a day but they do not seem to help. This has a major impact to her daily life as you can imagine and I was wondering if you had a food guide sheet or a recommendation for any other diahorreah treatments she can try? There does not seem to be a pattern to the episodes, sometimes she can have a small curry and be fine and then the next time have terrible diahorreah! Do you also think she should take salt supplements following bouts of diahorreah? There was not much advice given after the surgery other than take these Loperomide as you may experience diahorreah but nothing to say how many, how long for, is this a permanent problem she will have.

Does anyone have a similar problem or experiences they could share to help and offer any guidance please?
